Flexicon Welcomes Two Apprentices

Flexicon are pleased to welcome two new apprentices to the Company. Rio Birchnall will be working in the Technical Department as a Technical Support Technician and Sean Moore will be working in the Operations Department as a Machinist. They started in September 2020, both being school leavers and will be continuing their education at college during term-time and will work at Flexicon for practical application of their learnings during holidays for the first year of their apprenticeship.

Rio and Sean joined their teams for the first time in a workplace environment at Flexicon for 1 week in October 2020 during their college holiday. During the week, they spent time with numerous stakeholders of Flexicon to further understand the business. They were also assigned a number of tasks to complete, including improving a returns process, quality checking and creating 3D models.

Paul Mildenstein, Managing Director of Flexicon held a session with the apprentices during the week and commented “it was great to meet Rio and Sean, we’re delighted they have joined the business. We see this as a great opportunity for both the Company and apprentices. We can learn from the theory they have gained at college, and they can apply their learnings in a hands-on practical environment. It is vital that we continue to invest in emerging talent, and we look forward to supporting and developing them throughout their apprenticeship.”

Rio and Sean will be undertaking their apprenticeships for 4 years. During this time, Flexicon will continue invest in both internal emerging talent and apprentices in the focus on talent as part of the GET 2X strategy.
