Flexicon enjoys successful week at Innotrans in Berlin

A successful week at Innotrans for Flexicon was reinforced with a visit from the UK Secretary of State for Rail, Paul Maynard, who is pictured left discussing how the government can support export opportunities in the rail market with Jeremy Candfield, Director General for the Rail Industry Association (centre) and Duncan McKinlay, Managing Director for Flexicon (right).

Says Duncan, “Innotrans is an excellent opportunity for British manufacturers to showcase their expertise to the global rail industry.  The show itself demonstrated that there is a real interest in the high quality solutions that meet the most exacting standards that are demanded by the global rail market.

“While we are waiting for the official figures to be published by the event organiser, more than 100,000 professional visitors were expected during the event.  Flexicon has had a record number of enquiries and leads from both new and existing customers.  It clearly demonstrates that high quality flexible conduit systems and engineered solutions are becoming increasingly vital to protect cabling in safety and performance critical applications.

“There are clearly real opportunities to export such solutions and as a nation we must recognise that the term ‘Made in the UK’ is a passport to international success.”

The event saw the company launch a number of new products including its new Flexicon ULTRATM fitting and a number of conduits offering compliance to EN 45545-2.

Continues Duncan; “When you look at all of the performance criteria for Flexicon ULTRATM there is no other fitting currently available that can match it.  We think that it is the first time that such a fit and forget connection has existed from a one-piece construction. It is the world’s best conduit fitting.”

To learn more about Flexicon ULTRA™ or any of Flexicon’s other Rail products, the company has introduced a new 44 page Cable Protection for Rail brochure which can be viewed online at www.flexicon.uk.com.
